Overview
Work with us to create a suite of resources for DemCap Classroom; the new site for Democracy and Capitalism Education
NEW in 2026 - the Democracy and Capitalism Education Team is looking for passionate High School Social Studies teachers to assist us in creating new Classroom Resources through two different Teacher Fellowships.

These teacher fellows will contribute to the up-and-coming DemCap Classroom website, a free tool for teachers and students that includes information, sources, and activities on Democracy and Capitalism. Choose between a Six-Month Residency Fellowship and a Three-Month Summer Fellowship - both of which are virtual.

The Residency Fellowship
Fellowship Logistics
The Residency Fellowship is an opportunity to help create an entire suite of high school-level classroom resources (lesson plans, primary sources, and case studies) for the new DemCap Classroom website throughout the duration of six months (May 2026-October 2026).

This fellowship includes a 12-Day Residency Experience from July 10th-22nd, which involves a week of the Democracy and Capitalism Teacher’s Institute. Participants must attend this Residency Experience in this fellowship.

Otherwise, this fellowship is fully remote, with a workload of about 25 hours/week.
Fellowship Payment
All Residency Fellows will receive an honorarium of $10,000, paid throughout the six months of work.

For the 12-Day Residency Experience part of this fellowship, lodging and most meals will be provided. Travel expenses (mileage or economy plane, train, or bus tickets) will be reimbursed for participants after the Residency concludes.

Essentially, all accepted participants should face little to no costs to attend the Residency portion of this fellowship.
Fellowship Details
The first two months of the fellowship (May 1-July 1) will be spent developing and enhancing pre-existing resources.

The Residency portion of the fellowship will take place from July 10th to 22nd. It will be spent learning materials and developing new content.

The last two months of the fellowship (August 1 - October 1) will be spent testing out the content in classrooms and refining material to best fit teacher and student needs.

The Summer Fellowship
Fellowship Logistics
The Summer Fellowship is an opportunity to help create a few high school-level classroom resources (one lesson plan, two primary sources, and one case study) for the new DemCap Classroom Website throughout the duration of three months (May 2026-August 2026).

This fellowship is fully remote, with a workload of about 10 hours/week.
Fellowship Payment
This fellowship does not have an in-person component. The honorarium allotment for this fellowship is $2,000, paid at the end of the three months of work.
Fellowship Details
The fellowship includes the development of four different resources within the three months - a lesson plan, two primary sources, and a case study. The Education and Outreach Specialist will work with the fellows to provide feedback and refine the resources.
